Smidge sends us:

I am driving from Duluth to the Black Hills with a group of people. Parents and children driving together as families. This drive takes many, many days.

Prior to each day’s drive, there is a staged dance – the children leave the parents – the parents are left alone to dance – each day the dances get more and more intense and emotional for the parents.

I am in the director’s role. I am not participating in the dance – I have no children – but I am visible on the stage.

I can’t see an audience, but I know we are being watched.

In my car is my dear friend Edgar and his parents. Although, in the dream, his parents are my parents. Continue reading

Driving in the country, there was a man I admired very much, but I was also afraid of him. I was in pain somewhere. We arrived at a house. We were in the kitchen – something I remember about something he said – about helping me. About cleansing.
In the kitchen I was hurting and he took a pair of scissors and sliced the inside of both my upper thighs. Continue reading

I’m standing in the middle of a hallway. It’s a hallway similar to a set out of the movie Toys staring Robin Williams. The floor is not flat but a rolling series of hills made of that fake grass used on mini golf courses. The walls are gray.

I turn and walking down the hall is my homecoming date from high school. She looks like a social repressed librarian dressed in a gray skirt with white Oxford cloth button down shirt and gray wool jacket: Black nylons and black shoes. She’s wearing her hair pulled back with heavy rimmed glasses sitting on the edge of her nose. Continue reading

Soozin sends us the following EPIC DREAM:

Once a long time ago … I had the following dream … it always seemed kind of epic…but, has stuck with me for years….. and seems like something that might make a good puppet show….

In the Dream… somehow it had been reported that the end of the world was coming there were going to be these huge floods… and everyone was told to head for higher ground… for some reason I was traveling on my own and heading for higher ground…. but, along the way I came upon a school … and was tired from walking for some reason I didn’t have a car… so I stopped at the school to see if I could rest… there was only one teacher there and lots of kids….. the teacher told me she was staying with all the kids whose parents had abandoned them…. she knew the flood was coming …. but, could not leave all of the kids… the kids didn’t know the end of the world was coming…. they were running around a screaming and playing and doing all the things kids do…. some where in our conversation she asked me if I was planing to stay….. i told her no I had to keep going …. i just needed to rest… i thanked her for the food… and the rest and said i needed to keep walking…… before i left she asked me if i would do her a favor…. she said she had two very special children and she asked me if i would take them with me …. she said they were special and they should come with me…. i think in the dream …. i thought … she thought they should go to saftey to higher ground…. so I agreed to take them … they were very little maybe 2 and 3 years old…. Max writes:

The dream begins with me wandering through post-apocalyptic NYC- nobody’s around, all the buildings are ruined and dark, and it’s a very cloudy night out. I go inside the building that I live in, chat with some of the people around, and notice everyone looking hungrily at this one blond girl. It turns out that we are all vampires and she used to be one, but is now human. Of course we have to control ourselves, as there are very few humans left to feed on. I don’t think I can handle it, so I tear out of the room in a quasi werewolf form and head to the roof. Continue reading

i’m in china, only it’s what i imagine norway looks like. i live by the train-tracks and everyday i’m plagued by the “little people”. one day i’m inside one of the outposts that line the tracks. the floor is steeply slanted and i’m talking to a beautiful girl with curly black hair, olive skin and big glasses. we are kinda into each other. i can tell because she’s a bit combative, finding her sea-legs with me. then a friendly, german matriarch with a flushed face comes in and i say something to her in perfect german. she is delighted that i speak her mother tongue and replies to me in it. unfortunately for me, i don’t speak german. boy, was i embaressed.

the girl inside on the slanted floor. the little people clambering along the snow-banks outside. i never saw their faces.

Dreams Number 14-18: Dream Haikus

[So, we’ve gotten a few wonderful dream submissions that are in the form of very short, simple, almost zen-like images–I like to call these “dream haikus.” I’ve added some formatting for effect.]

Dianne writes that she was creeped out by the following dream:

Someone kept trying
to get me to hold a little baby
but it had a full set of teeth.

Sam dreamt:

I had a dream my eyebrows turned dark
and grew out to the sides of my head,
and no one had a tweezers.

Loren sends us these two:

I was taking the train to Uganda,
but I accidently go off in Japan.
It was okay, I just got on going in the opposite direction.

Before the election,
I dreamt I saw Obama in a rocky clearing,
fighting a bear. He won.
